It's a family tradition to take a family picture at Christmas each year. My brother Rich sets up his tripod, we all organize ourselves and squeeze in tight, and say cheese. The picture this year turned out GREAT!! I still am amazed that everyone ~including the 5 kids ages 5 and under are all looking AND smiling at the camera.
As the Cutter/Highsmith grandchildren get older, we are trying to teach them the true meaning of Christmas is Baby Jesus' birth. Mimi annually bakes a birthday cake for Jesus and the kids all get to decorate it. Then we all sing "Happy Birthday to You" to Jesus.
This year Mimi collected/made costumes for the kids to dress up and put on a live nativity while singing/listening to "Away in a Manger". It was really sweet to watch them do this. This was our first year doing this, but I think it may be another annual tradition.
